Publication & Distribution
We set up the book’s publication details and print-on-demand distribution, making it available to order through participating retailers and booksellers. Individual shops are also able to decide whether to stock it.
Design of Illustrations & Cover
If included, we develop sketches for your feedback before completing the colour artwork and cover. Alternatively, author supplied artwork is checked for suitability.
Royalties & Ongoing Support
After publication, we manage your book’s availability and sales administration. You receive 50% of profit from book sales as royalties, after printing, retailer and distribution charges are deducted.
Layout, proofreading & Final Approval
We format the book’s interior and complete a final proofread after layout.
You approve final proofs, and we check a printed proof before releasing the book.
WHO ARE WE?
Crow Atelier is a small independent UK publisher, founded by publisher author and illustrator Kamille Ziel.
Created from her love of storytelling and experience in publishing her own books, Crow Atelier brings together creativity and passion for helping authors. We believe authors should feel heard, understood and involved and have a voice in shaping their book.
We specialise in children’s books, particularly illustrated picture books, while also welcoming non-illustrated manuscripts for older readers. Our approach is personal and collaborative, with clear communication from your first proposal through to publication.
WHY CHoOSE US?
At Crow Atelier we believe that every manuscript represents time, imagination and something its author wants to share.
We help authors develop their manuscripts into finished books through a personal, collaborative process.
You’ll work directly with Kamille, from your initial proposal through to publication.
We offer a very clear and transparent approach: author-funded hybrid publishing. Authors pay an agreed fee for the services involved in creating and publishing their book, then receive 50% of net receipts from book sales.
Your proposal sets out exactly what we will deliver, the full cost and the payment schedule before you commit.
